ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an exceptional, experienced, and highly dedicated Senior Human Resources & Compliance Manager. The Senior Human Resources & Compliance Manager will play an integral role in our continued growth and success.  Under the supervision of the Senior Director of HR & Compliance, the Senior Human Resources & Compliance Manager focuses on benefits, compensation, employee relations, retention, policies/procedures, and special projects supporting the organization.  This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who is passionate about human resources and is able to work both independently and collaboratively, while also prioritizing a diverse workload. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist with employee relations matters alongside the Senior Director of HR & Compliance. 
  • Coordinate with employees and management to resolve all issues and recommend disciplinary action if required.
  • Assist with the compensation structure of the organization.
  • Conducts exit interviews and monitors turnover by compiling data and creating summary reports. Works with department and division heads to recommend and implement retention programs.
  • Conducts new hire check-ins. 
  • Prepares various reports on HR data for the leadership team.
  • Provides excellent employee relations advice and counsel to managers and handles some aspects of resolution, including performance issues and compliance with all relevant legal and union requirements. 
  • Collaborates with legal counsel and departments in the preparation for and participation in negotiation with employee and labor groups.
  • Administers benefits associated with leaves of absence (FMLA, parental, LTD/STD, workers comp, etc.)
  • Offers guidance and advice on interpretation and implementation of policies. 
  • Promotes company morale and management initiatives.
  • Enforces company policies and works to reduce company threats and liabilities. 
  • Familiarizes employees with policies and procedures via email, discussions, etc.
  • Maintains relationships with vendors and broker contacts.
  • Executes various HR programs (performance management, EEO & diversity, benefits open enrollment, and compensation administration) through training and implementation. 
  • Participates in the annual budget process and helps ensure the HR & Compliance teams are in compliance with the budget, team goals, and objective.
  • Completes special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five to seven years of proven experience in progressive Employee Relations, Compensation, Human Resources, or related field required.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification desired but not required.
  • Knowledge of and experience in applying federal, state, and local laws and statutes that govern employment policies and practices.
  • Collective Bargaining experience a plus. 
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite and Google Apps (Gmail, Google Docs, and Drive)
  • A high degree of discretion, professional ethics, and judgment in confidential matters and information.
  • Thorough understanding of dispute resolution and compensation administration.
  • Ability to communicate the COC culture and support an engaged work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, excellent customer service. 
  • Ability to analyze problems, gather pertinent data, and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to maintain composure and good judgment when dealing with deadlines and dissatisfied staff in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong organizational skills are required to meet recurring deadlines and maintain tracking systems related to human resources and recruiting information. 
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities as needed. 
  • Desire to work as a team with a results-driven approach.
  • Some travel may be required (typically less than 10% of the year).

The salary for the Senior Human Resources & Compliance Manager position is $85,000/year. This is a full-time exempt position. Color Of Change also offers a competitive benefits package.
